instruction to yourself to fail, the other to succeed. Remember then: self-talk is you telling yourself what to do: it"s your conscious mind giving an order to your sub conscious mind.
I know this seems like a picky distinction but as you read on you"ll realize the importance of self-talk, not just to your conscious mind but to your unconscious mind. J. K. Rowling didn't say, "I'm going to try to be a great writer," she grabbed her pen, her paper, her baby and her ideas, and roamed from café to café around the streets of Edinburgh and got on with it. Jamie Oliver didn't say, "I'm going to try to be a great chef," he grabbed his cleaver and his pots his pans and his ideas and chopped and stirred and boiled away. Mother Teresa, Martin Luther King, Oprah Winfrey, Ray Charles, Barbara Walters, Tiger Woods, Margaret Thatcher, Richard Branson and Lady Gaga: they didn"t say, !I"ll try.” They grabbed their ideas and ran with them. Not one of them will tell you it didn"t come without hard work. Not one of them will tell you they didn"t ache, agonize and practice and polish their talents, knacks and attributes every moment of every day.
The same advice applies for words like must, should, ought to etc.
4. Replace "Got to" with "Get to"
Flipping !got to” to !get to” can transform the landscape of your life.
