you some time to discuss this with your partners.” After providing time and inviting responses, write  udent ideas on the board. (A Language Dive is a conversation about a sentence from a complex text. Students dive beneath the surface of the sentence to under and how the phrases, the  ructures, and the details create the meaning of the entire sentence. They discuss how the sentence is import- ant to the text and to writing.)
