Black Sheep Coach, Con4nued from pg 2...
We see Jesus taking twelve men from where they were and transporting them through coaching into fully devoted disciples. He was their coach.
Stephen Covey in his book, First Things First, talks about the SEE-DO-GET model. What we see Jesus do, we then do ourselves and then we get the results that Jesus got. Jesus did not simply lecture but clearly demonstrated the things he wanted to be their coach. One of the key principles that he taught was that knowing what to do and how to do it was not enough.
Jesus demonstrated that it takes action. As Jesus closed out his ministry on Earth, that was the message he gave them. Some of the final words of Jesus were to go into all the nations, making disciples here, near, and far. In other words, it’s time for action and we must empower people to do just that.
I know we don’t see ourselves as being a coach to hog chapter members or to other the bikers, at least I don’t, but maybe we should. As black sheep we should be role model to those around us. That means someday someone may ask you to be their coach. What will you say?
