FEATURED RESIDENT:
Bryan Stoltz
I entered the job market at the same time the Bay Area was having a Tech Boom in the 1980's. It was
not hard to find work as a Drafter. I thought I was a natural because of working on my own cars, and
believed that I knew how things were supposed to work. After a time, they called me a Designer, and
after an even longer time, I was designated an Engineer. Overall I spent 40 years in Medical Device
Design. You just have to keep showing up.
Being ADD and dyslexic I made approximately fifteen moves from start-up to real companies and then
back to start-ups. Most of which were in medical equipment but one product was for the retail industry,
This particular company required I make four trips to China which I did clutching my duffle bag and
laptop. At my 20 year High School reunion, I was asked what I did for a living and my reply was,
"Remember, I always doodled in class, now they pay me for it". I retired from my favorite job, Laserscope, and began what now has been
15 years in the hobby phase of my life. One of the designs I’ve made since retirement is a Scull Cat Watercraft (patent pending) and anoth-
er is a Solar Turtle (a shelter for climate and political refugees) both pictured below.
