CRI (Conservatives, Republicans, and Independents)
Our guest speaker for our May 4th meeting was Kevin Snider from the
Pacific Justice Institute. His topic was “When Liberty is in Peril: How
We Lost the Bill of Rights and How We Can Take It Back”. They
currently have over 150 cases.
This group has defended Charter and Private Schools as well as the right
to homeschool. For more information about them, check out their web

One of the things that Kevin Snider said was that we need to stand up
against these “Unconstitutional” acts. We need to vote people in who
believe in and will support our values. CRI is hosting an event that will And on behalf of all those Veteran’s in need that The Club Vets serve
help you do that. Sign up for our “Placer Patriots Summer Fundraiser” on each year thank you for supporting this important effort in and for our
June 17th. It is being held right here at the Retreat. We will have
Charcuterie and Wine Tasting all for only $50/person. Joe Patterson is

Club Crafters
Whatever your craft or hobby is, we would like to invite you to join
us. We meet every Tuesday at 10 AM in the library. Dig out those
unfinished projects and come have a cup of coffee with us, and I
guarantee lots of good conversation and laughs. If you would like more

Club Trekkers
The Club Trekkers conduct hikes on the first and third
Tuesdays of each month and the Saturdays immediately
following those Tuesdays. On the other Saturdays of the
month we conduct neighborhood walks. Two days before
each hike or walk we send out an email with details
regarding the next hike or walk to members of the Club
Trekkers. As the weather has gotten warmer we will plan
for hikes at higher elevations. We may also add hikes on
other Tuesdays. Extreme heat will change the hikes. Below are the
hikes and walks which might be changed depending on weather.
6/3/23 Saturday - Neighborhood Walk
6/6/23 Tuesday - 5.5 miles, easy, Eagles Nest, Folsom
6/10/23 Saturday - 4.5 miles, easy, Sugar Pine Reservoir, Forest Hill
6/17/23 Saturday - Neighborhood Walk
6/20/23 Tuesday - 5.5 miles, moderate, Deer Creek Tribute Trail,
Nevada City
6/24/23 Saturday - 5.9 miles, moderate, Empire Mine, Grass Valley
7/1/23 Saturday - Neighborhood Walk

Club Quilters ~ Quilters inspiring Quilters
We meet the 2nd and 4th Fridays at 10:00 a.m. in The Library. If you

Club Veterans
Thank you one and all! The 2023 Veteran’s BBQ was once again SOLD

We will all be looking forward to welcoming and serving those of you
who reserved seats for the June 3rd BBQ at The Club.

Cornhole
Cornhole is a game where teams of 2 players
take turns throwing bean bags at a raised,
angled board with a hole in the far end. The
goal is to land the bean bags in the hole or on
top of the board. We establish teams each time
from a lottery draw. We ask for $2 as we use
the funds for prizes at the end of the
evening. Weather dictates if we play inside in the Wellness Room or
outside under the covered patio. Play for June will be on June 5th, 7th,
19th and 21st. Monday play is at 1:00 pm and Wednesday play is at 5:30
pm. You’ll get the opportunity to meet a variety of your neighbors.
In January we began tracking our high point winners. We use their two
highest scores in a month. The highest scoring individuals for the first six
months of 2023 will receive a prize in July. Through the end of April, the
standings for our high point players are: Tied for first place is Mike
Morales and Bill Winter with 632 points. In third place is Roger
Williams at 623 points, then Rosie Lehto with 617 points and in fifth is
Bev Morales with 600 points. You can start playing at any time – it’s
not necessary to wait for the current tournament to end.
A sign-up email is sent out approximately one week before scheduled
play. We’ve had great turnout so in order to give everyone a chance to
play, we ask that initially you only sign up for your first choice. Then
place your name on the wait list for the other day. If there is room for
additional players, we’ll notify them players from the waitlist.
Cribbage
All new players are welcome!
MONDAYS & WEDNESDAYS @ 10AM CRIBBAGE IS PLAYED
AT THE CLUB UNTIL NOON
Come play CRIBBAGE with us every Monday and/or Wednesday from
10am to noon. We play two and three handed and partners with four.
Cards are drawn to see who plays with whom. If you have not played in
a long time, no problem, we will go slow and reacquaint you to the
game. We have 12 to 20 members and play to have fun and enjoy each
others company. If you would like to play Cribbage drop in or call Alan
