THE WINNERS AND LOSERS

OF THE SHUTDOWN

Winning and losing is an interesting concept. Why
do we have to speak in such black and white terms?
Is there enough room in a conversation regarding
winning and losing to simply be content to play the

game? Why is this concept of winning and losing
so closely tied to our view of how the world works?
When a company makes more money, are they
winning? When a company is forced out of business
by another company, are they losing? Did they deserve
to lose? Did they play the game incorrectly? Did they
misunderstand the rules of the game, or were they
simply bad at it? Why are we tying the making of
money to winning?

These questions fascinate me, because I find
money vastly misunderstood in the current day and
time that we live in. I want to take a look at what I
