PANDA
Con la aceleración del cambio climático, cerca de la mitad de los bosques de bambú se perderá en
los próximos años y, por lo tanto, la población de pandas disminuirá. La fuente principal de alimen-
to de los pandas es el bambú. Antiguamente, cuando un bosque de bambú moría de forma natural,
los pandas podían migrar fácilmente hasta un nuevo bosque. Estas migraciones no se pueden reali-
zar actualmente, ya que no existe conectividad entre los distintos bosques y algunas poblaciones de
pandas corren el riesgo de morir de hambre cuando su bosque de bambú florezca.
With the acceleration of climate change, about half of the bamboo forests will be lost in the coming
years, and therefore the population of pandas will decrease. The main source of food for pandas is
bamboo. In the past, when a bamboo forest died naturally, pandas could easily migrate to a new
forest. These migrations cannot currently take place as there is no connectivity between the different
forests and some panda populations are at risk of starvation when their bamboo forest flourishes.
