Bernard and Hugh met each other at midday with

little belongings, they boarded the next ship to

Jamestown and therefore would be riding with Al and

his crew.

Hugh and Bernard had no family members that

lived close to them, so they walked back down to the

dock. “Not truly going to miss the town,” Bernard said to

Hugh. They boarded the magnificent ship. There were

around 32 total passengers: Al, Hugh, Bernard, Al’s

crew, and Al’s captain, Thomas Johnson, but there were

really only 27, as all of his crew other than his captain

were constantly sleeping or drinking below deck. As

they departed, they looked at the town one last time.
