The next day came fast and Al, Bernard, Hugh,

and the Captain were all woken up by the pirates. “Up

chaps,” they cried as they ordered them up to bring them

below deck. It was as if they were never treated as

guests. Their hands were bound, and they were roughly

thrown into a cell below deck, into a cell with bars.

There were two other skinny men in the cell.

“How do you do,” Bernard greeted the rather

skinny men.

They did not respond, looking starved and

exhausted. Just then, two pirates came down and barked,

“Up, up,” to the two men. They ordered the two men up

the deck.
