The Door
I opened the door and saw myself, ten
times over.
I reached out in disbelief,
As a new door opened up.
I opened the door and smelt fresh
herbs and spice.
Waving water splashed about and
The clouds careered across the sky.
I opened the door and heard a lamb
Bleating for its mother.
There was orange grass swaying in the
wind.
I opened the door and saw a swamp of
sacrifice
Beside the desert of envy,
Sizzling in the blinding heat.
I opened the door and saw nothing... Will Cameron (P7) identifies his ‘Heriot’s Highlights’
