P1 see the light Nursery
As part of our Light and Dark topic, twitchers go
P1 had a visit from Generation
Science. Jack and Benny told us all on bird hunt
about how the Earth and the Moon
orbit the Sun and how long they Inspired by the RSPB’s Big Garden
take to do it. They also explained Birdwatch, the Nursery children
that we experience day and night learned about the birds in our
at different times depending on locality. They enjoyed spending time
where we live. We sang songs in the bird hide they made and used
about night and day and were even binoculars to watch the birds (and
part of a quiz show. We had great squirrels!) come and go. They also
fun! enjoyed going for a walk around the
Wildlife Garden where they used a
tally chart to record all the different
Youngest pupils mark century of days birds they saw. The children were
very quiet and extremely patient,
and managed to spot a whole host
of different birds including robins,
crows, seagulls, pigeons, blue tits
and blackbirds.
