1 Cor. 15:12-15 Now, let me ask you something
profound yet troubling. If you became believers because
you trusted the proclamation that Christ is alive, risen
from the dead, how can you let people say that there is
no such thing as a resurrection? If there’s no resurrection,
there’s no living Christ. And face it—if there’s no
resurrection for Christ, everything we’ve told you is smoke
and mirrors, and everything you’ve staked your life on is
smoke and mirrors. Not only that, but we would be guilty
of telling a string of barefaced lies about God, all these
affidavits we passed on to you verifying that God raised
up Christ—sheer fabrications, if there’s no resurrection.
DID HE REALLY DIE?
BY PASTOR MIKE (TAMARAC, FL)
The disciples have seen the one they loved and adored, beaten beyond
recognition. The Messiah they'd pinned their hopes and dreams on, now hung
from a cross--his body appeared lifeless. The deception is that He didn't really die-
-or did He? Over 2000 years after the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus
Christ, there are still those who would try to suggest that the death of Christ was
staged. Someone looking like Christ was given the gruesome task of taking his
place on the cross. Perhaps He didn't die--He just fainted and was later revived!
The question of whether or not Jesus actually died is not new to the 21st century.
In fact, it is a question Paul is forced to address in his letter to the Corinthian
Church. The suggestion that Jesus did not die is a fool's babbling. Historical
records, both biblical and secular attest to his death and subsequent burial.
Thousands of eyewitnesses, martyrs willing to die cruel and painful deaths, along
with present day miracles attest tothe fact, a savior who is very much alive!
