Lacing up for Officer Down

        Memorial 5K Race

On May 11th, members of MIL’s DS/CFO team participated in
the 18th annual National Police Week 5K race in Crystal City,
Arlington, VA. Representing team DS/CFO, were members
of our RPA staff—Devak Murali (racer 9228), Michael
Moskovakis (1545), and Carolina Gil Ochoa (1412) along with
Carolina’s husband (1413) who sported a Run to Remember
        tee for the event!
The annual foot race is a live-action memorial to honor
America’s fallen law enforcement officers, where racers
are encouraged to “run, remember, and rally together.”
Participants are also asked to join Project Active Armor by
donning their Kevlar in solidarity. According to their website,
“Project Active Armor is an awareness campaign to show
every Deputy, Agent, Correction's and Police Officer that they
can do anything in body armor.”

                                                                                                          kudos

        RPA Implementation Milestone at CGFS

In May, Katie Huemmer and Andrew Hibbeln from the
Systems Coordination and Implementation (SCI) team
successfully implemented the first unattended Robotic Process
Automation (RPA) bot for the Department of State within
the Bureau of the Comptroller & Global Financial Services
(CGFS). This achievement is the result of a multi-year effort
with support from Global Systems Operations, Systems
Development & Maintenance, and Information Systems
Security Office teams to establish the infrastructure, processes,
and security required to implement. This is a true milestone
not only for CGFS, but the entire Department. The first
business process to be implemented using an unattended bot
was the Charge Billing Dunning Error Identification process.
The bot automatically reviews and reconciles two Global
Financial Management System reports to identify where to
hold dunning notices. This is just the beginning, as the SCI
team continues to convert eligible attended bot processes to
        unattended in the upcoming months.
