HR Highlight
Jennifer Johnson
Jennifer works in MIL’s Charleston Admin/HR office. When she joined MIL in 2011, MIL did not
have a local office in Charleston. Jennifer worked alongside our contractors at the Department
of State. Jen’s responsibilities at the time included recruiting and onboarding new employees,
supporting over 100 Charleston employees with their HR questions and concerns, and supporting
Corporate and management requests and projects. While working on the client site, Jen went
through the same onboarding/training requirements as our contractors and was able to learn
firsthand about the client’s onboarding requirements. She also experienced the challenging
learning curve that an employee who is new to government goes through. With her passion
for customer satisfaction, she made it her mission to work alongside each new hire to ensure a
welcoming and supportive experience when joining MIL and the Department of State.
Jen has worked out of MIL’s local Admin/HR office since its creation in 2014. She is responsible
for onboarding all Charleston team members including domestic and international employees.
She is an expert in the complicated process that involves numerous intricacies which would
not be possible without the relationships she has forged over the years with her Department of
State colleagues. Jen has more than 30 years of professional experience in customer satisfaction
and continuous improvement including five years serving as MIL’s ISO Quality Segment Owner
(QSO) in Charleston. During her role as QSO, Jennifer achieved her mission by developing
an onboarding process that Charleston relies on to onboard new hires successfully and in a
welcoming and supportive manner.
