The block producers would have to compete for their
share of this 1% inflation by producing blocks
excellently and storing the data of the ecosystem on
their servers.
They also engage in other activities which are aimed
at providing value to the EOS ecosystem. It is
assumed that the block producers who are the most
competent and add the most value to the network
would get the highest rewards.
In their one-year ICO, Block.one was able to
successfully raise 4.1 billion dollars. This is the
highest amount that has ever being raised in any
crowdfunding.
One of the things that they have done with that is to
set up a Billion Dollar VC fund. With this fund, they
would invest in projects that would bring value to the
EOS ecosystem.
