                                                      NYPCG Holds First Consulate Saturday of the Year

                                                                 The Philippine Consulate General New York opened its office doors on
                                                      February 4 during the first Consulate Saturday of 2017.

                                                                 A skeletal consular team provided passport, civil registry, dual citizenship
                                                      and notarial/authentication services to about 30 applicants who came from as far
                                                      as Connecticut, and did not have to miss work to avail of consular services.

                                                      Consulate Saturdays are part of the Consular Outreach program of the

                                 Eric, who arrived in New York in February 2017, is our new Administrative Officer, replacing Rey
                     Cardenas who retired in June 2017. Before his assignment in New York, Eric was assigned in the Home
                     Office as Administrative Officer at the Office of the Secretary and at the Human Resources Management
                     Office. His previous foreign assignments were at the Philippine Embassies in Bucharest, Wellington and
                     London as well as at the Philippine Consulate in Toronto, serving in various capacities such as Protocol
                     Officer, Administrative Officer, Political and Economic Officer and Consular Assistant. His well rounded
                     experience and expertise in handling consular, protocol and logistical arrangements, liaising with the host
                     government, and providing administrative support on human resource matters will greatly contribute to the
                     Consulate as it expects to receive almost 100 visiting government officials attending numerous meetings in
the New York and other states under New York PCG’s jurisdiction yearly. Despite the workload, we hope that Eric and his
wife, Gina, will have the time to explore and enjoy New York.
