“A good friend mentioned that her workplace was looking for more staff and that she thought I was a good fit.”
Stephanie became a Support Worker, and she hasn’t looked back since.
In 2021 Stephanie successfully transitioned from her support role after being appointed a Client Services Coordinator for Just Better Care Bayside.
Stephanie says her previous life experience gave her more skills
in understanding other people’s needs, a quality she sees as vital in a caring or supporting role.

Stephanie says because of this, there were few surprises when she became a Support Worker. In fact, the only revelation was the diverse backgrounds of those she has been able to assist.
“I’ve met a collection of interesting people, such as a gentleman
who is a Nobel Prize winner, the first African-American woman
to work on Boeing 747 airliners (she keeps the news clipping on the wall, so it’s legitimate!) and a Jewish professional dancer who escaped WWII.
“For anyone considering a career change, who finds that they want
to make a difference in lives that need it, I would highly recommend moving into a support role. Working with Just Better Care has been a wonderful blessing to me over the last four and a half years and I’m so thankful for this opportunity to
