Page 7 - Summer Programme 2020
P. 7
Exciting times are ahead! Science in Year 7 is about learning how
to think scientifically, to think critically and logically. It’s also most
importantly about developing practical skills in how to figure
things out by designing and running dangerous experiments. To
do that you’ll need to learn how to operate in a laboratory safely.
Science is about asking questions and then figuring out how to
find the answers. To that end, there is no knowledge or skills you
need to worry about over the summer but it might be good if you
came prepared with these three things:
1.Choose a favourite scientist and have a look at what they have
discovered or worked on.
2. Choose a brilliantly fiendish question to bring to our first lesson
that you already know the answer to…
3.Bring a scientific question about something you don’t know, but
would love to find out.
Other than that, get ready to begin a journey of discovery
that will change your life.
