Breaking the Curse of Poverty  David K. Owusu

The scripture puts it this way:-

“a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest
and poverty will come on you like a thief and scarcity like an
                  armed man” Proverbs 24:33-34 [AMPC]

The story that deeply captures Gods position on the need for man
to get his part done is found in the book of Exodus. Right after the
children of Israel had left captivity and were on their way to the
promised land, God divinely provided food for them in form of
manna which technically “rained” from heaven.

This meant that they were not required to fend for themselves but
to collect what was provided. It is worth noting that despite the fact
that the manna was divinely provided by Jehovah, the Israelites had
their part to play – they had to walk out of their tents and collect
               their portion daily.

“Then the Lord said to Moses, Behold I will rain bread from the
heavens for you; and the people shall go out and gather a day’s
portion every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk
in My law or not, on the sixth day they shall prepare to bring in

twice as much as they gather daily” Exodus 16:4-5 [AMPC]

I would not suppose that these are mere suggestions! The Lord
means business and as such we need to spring to action. nothing is
and will be that has not been deliberately sought. We all should be
well acquainted with the understanding that the way to attaining
the true wealth that has been promised by God, is through hard
