Breaking the Curse of Poverty David K. Owusu
It is important to understand that the “works” and “faith” refer to
the attitude that we have. Faith and works co-relate and are the
basis upon which the Christian is found in proper standing.
Faith then becomes the driving force for the individual to venture
into the “work” that would generate the wealth that they so desire.
Faith in God is what makes the impossible to be possible. God
desires for us to move in dimensions where we acknowledge His
strength and not of our own ability to make the impossible happen.
It was on the account of such strong belief that it was accounted of
Abraham as righteousness.
The very school of thought on this subject is scripturally founded
and supported fervently in all spheres of existence. The workings of
faith and that of divine hand that brings the supernatural increase
work just as equally as we do. Scripture puts it this way:-
“I can already hear one of you agreeing by saying, ‘Sounds good.
You take care of the faith department, I will handle the works
department” Not so fast. You can no more show me your works
apart from your faith than I can show you my faith apart from
your work. Faith and works, works and faith, fit together hand in
glove” James 2:18 [MSG]
At this point I would suppose that you would ask what faith and
“works” have to do with wealth? The point cannot be emphasized
beyond what has already been stated.
