Breaking the Curse of Poverty  David K. Owusu

The following are the lessons from the Jewish belief system:
                   • Charitable giving benefits the giver.
                   • You must not live beyond your means BUT you must give
                     beyond your means.

                   • Giving away money makes money to come back to you.

                   • Being charitable means making new friends
º When you are charitable, people connect with you

                   • People are creators nOT consumers.
º Their perception of handling money is to use it to create
                       more, not to consume it.

º You must learn to put aside some money that will work for
                       you.

               The Bible says: -

“And God is able to make all grace (every favour, and earthly
blessing come to you in abundance, so that you may always and
under all circumstances and whatever need be self –sufficient
[possessing enough to require no aid or support and furnished in
abundance for every good work and charitable donation]. As it
written, He [the benevolent person] scatters abroad; He gives

to the poor, His deeds of justice and goodness and kindness and
benevolence will go on and endure forever! And [God] who
provides seed for the sower and bread for eating will also provide
and multiply your [resources for sowing and increase the fruits
of your righteousness [which manifests itself in active goodness,
