Mauricka McKenzie, Sr., P.E., President
and Principal Engineer for Cornerstone
Engineering, LLC, oversees the detailed
design and construction management of all
projects. Mr. McKenzie has 18+ years of
experience in civil engineering with special
expertise in local government
infrastructure. McKenzie has always had a
passion for engineering but delayed
entrepreneurship because of the lack of
minorities in civil engineering. McKenzie
understood owning a business brings its
own set of challenges but eventually
started his own firm in 2017 with his first
project being the Mississippi e-Center. He
took advantage of current relationships,
revived old relationships and cold called
city and local governments to build
business. Mr. McKenzie is not only licensed
to practice in Mississippi but also Alabama,
Louisiana, and Texas.
Cornerstone Engineering, LLC, is a Certified
Disadvantaged Business (DBE) by the
Alabama Department of Transportation
(ALDOT) and Mississippi Department of
Transportation (MDOT) and a Certified
Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) by
Mississippi Development Authority (MDA).
