          EN BLEU SOUS COUVERTE ET EPOQUE QIANLONG (1736-1795)
          Reposant  sur  un  petit  pied  droit,  l'extérieur  est  finement  peint  des  Huit
          Immortels, Baxian, au-dessus des vagues tumultueuses. L'intérieur est orné
          des trois dieux taoïstes, Fu Xing, Lu Xing et Shoulao sous un pin tortueux dans
          un cartouche circulaire.

          Property from a French private collection.
          The scene depicts the legend of the Eight Immortals crossing the sea, and this
          same detailed pattern is found on other bowls of the period, cf. a pair of bowls
          sold in Christie's Hong Kong, 28 October 2002, lot 703; and a single bowl from
          the  Riesco collection  included  in the  O.C.S., Exhibition of Chinese Blue and
          White Porcelain, London, 1954, no. 309.
