               A JADE ‘PHOENIX’ CEREMONIAL
               KNIFE, XUEDAO
               WARRING STATES PERIOD (475-221 BC)
               The knife is carved with a slender gently curved blade, sharpened
               on one edge and tapering at the point. The shaft is accentuated
               with incised lines, terminating in a pierced handle with a pair of
               phoenix heads conjoined at the tail.
