The frst bottle, Qianlong four-character seal mark in iron red and Asian Art Studio, Los Angeles, 2011.
probably late in the period, is decorated on one side with a scene of Ruth and Carl Barron Collection, Belmont, Massachusetts,
a male and a female fgure in a garden and two immortals amidst no. 5165.
clouds on the reverse. The second bottle, 1840-1900, is decorated Second and third bottles: John W. Sinclair Collection, California.
with a large prunus tree against an incised leafy ground and has an Asian Art Studio, Los Angeles, California, 2011.
apocryphal Qianlong mark on the base. The third bottle, 1830-1900, Ruth and Carl Barron Collection, Belmont, Massachusetts,
is molded on each side with a fgural panel. nos. 5164 and 5162.

A BLUE-OVERLAY WHITE GLASS SNUFF BOTTLE
1780-1850
The bottle is carved through the semi-translucent blue overlay to
the opaque white ground on each side with a design of a woven
basket flled with a peony blossom, and with mask-and-ring handles
on the narrow sides.
