A LARGE MOTHER-OF-PEARL-INSET WOOD SNUFF
BOTTLE
THE YAJI MASTER, JAPAN, 1860-1920
The wood bottle is inset on each side with a mother-of-pearl panel
fnely carved with fgures in pavilions in a mountainous retreat,
and the narrow sides are carved with butterfies and blue vapor
interrupted by ring handles on the shoulders.
