The amber-colored glass bottle is
decorated with a continuous scene of
twelve geese either in fight, swimming
or on the shore of a reedy lake, with an
inscription in running script referring to the
scene, followed by the artist’s signature
and seal.

PORCELAIN SNUFF BOTTLES
JINGDEZHEN KILNS, 1830-1900
The frst, 1840-1900, depicts a scholar
seated under a willow tree. The second,
1830-1880, is molded with a raised panel
on either side, each decorated in copper red
with a deer and two fgures, the base with
an apocryphal Yongzheng mark.
