A FAMILLE ROSE PORCELAIN SNUFF
BOTTLE
IMPERIAL, JINGDEZHEN KILNS,
DAOGUANG FOUR-CHARACTER SEAL
MARK IN IRON RED AND OF THE PERIOD
(1821-1850)
The fattened bottle is decorated on each side with
a lotus blossom surrounded by leafy tendrils, all
reserved on a blue ground between a band of ruyi
scroll on the neck and upright lappets above the foot.

with a fgure and a calligraphic inscription relating to the fgures, Second and third bottle: John Ault Collection, Bangkok, Thailand.
and the base with a four-character mark, ruyu zhenwan, translating Robert Kleiner, London, 2010 and 2011.
to ‘precious plaything equal to jade’. The second, 1830-1880, has an Ruth and Carl Barron Collection, Belmont, Massachusetts, nos. 5081
unusual inscription relating to the underglaze blue and copper-red and 5144.
scene of a scholar on a day bed below a stand of bamboo. The
third, Xianfeng four-character mark and of the period (1851-1861), is 1830-1900年 青花鼻煙壺三件
decorated with an unusual subject comprised of fve tigers, one with
wings and one with a crowned human rider, the base polished.
