A RARE YAOZHOU CELADON CARVED ‘FLORAL’ EWER
Northern Song Dynasty
The upright sides and the canted shoulder of the cylindrical body well
carved with a scrolling peony spray below a double bow-string band,
rising to a waisted neck and an everted rim with lipped edge, set with
a short curved spout on one side and a looped strap handle on the
other, the vessel covered with a clear glaze of dark olive-green colour
above the flat, unglazed base, fitted box.
