Compare the rich luster of the polished sandstone,
$8,000-12,000 the ornate crown with geometric motif, and
the distinctive tiered chignon cover with a
contemporaneous Angkor-period sculpture of the
bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara in the Norton Simon
Museum (acc. no. F.1972.31.1.S).
