A RARE AND FINE YELLOW-GROUND BLUE AND WHITE
‘DRAGON AND RUYI’ BOWL
Kangxi six-character mark and of the period
The bowl finely potted with deep rounded sides rising from a tapered
foot to an everted rim, the interior with a central medallion enclosing
a five-clawed blue dragon on a yellow ground, the exterior similarly
decorated with a pair of sinuous five-clawed dragons striding through
flames above overlapping lotus petals, alternating with a lingzhi spray
supporting a cinquefoil cartouche enclosing respectively the characters
shou and fu, box.
