A CARVED NUT NECKLACE
QING DYNASTY (1644-1911)
The necklace is composed of one hundred
and eight intricately carved nut beads, each
variously depicting a fictional figural scene
from Shuihu zhuan (Outlaws of the Marsh).
The central pendant is a walnut carving of
figures with incised calligraphy.
