A SUPERB CLOISONNE ENAMEL
ARCHAISTIC VASE, FANGHU
QING DYNASTY, 18TH CENTURY
The vase of elegant proportions is enamelled on all four sides with
a main band of abstract archaistic scrolls above upright lappets, the
neck decorated with a row of pendent plantain leaves above lotus
sprays, and the foot with stylised vines. The two narrow sides are
flanked by a pair of gilt-metal lion masks with loose rings. The
base is probably a later replacement and is cast with a Yongzheng
four-character seal mark
