A TIANHUANG SEAL FOR HE SHAOJI A FURONG SOAPSTONE SEAL CARVED BY

QING DYNASTY, 19TH CENTURY CHEN JULAI FOR CHANG HSUEH-LIANG
The irregularly shaped seal is plain, carved on the seal face with an REPUBLIC PERIOD
inscription indicating the seal belongs to ‘He Shaoji of Daozhou’. The square seal is surmounted by a finial in the form of a
1Æ in. (4.5 cm.) high, 52g, box recumbent single-horned mythical beast, incised on one side with
HK$220,000-320,000 US$29,000-41,000 an inscription reading ‘carved by Quezhai for Hanqing’. The seal
face reads ‘seal of Chang Hsueh-liang’.

事變後遭蔣介石父子長期軟禁，後隨國民黨遷台， 2001年病逝於檀香山。
陳巨來（1904-1984），原名斝，字巨來，號塙齋，二十世紀著名篆刻家，
工詩，擅書法。曾任上海中國畫院畫師、西泠印社社員、上海書法篆刻
研究會會員。
