A BAMBOO ‘FIGURE IN LANDSCAPE’
WRIST REST
QING DYNASTY, 19TH CENTURY
The irregularly-shaped wrist rest is carved to the top with a
scholar holding his shoe gazing up at a pine tree growing
from overhanging cliffs, inscribed with a three-character mark
reading Zhifan zhi. The underside is carved in low relief depicting
leaves growing from the cliff face.
