         DOUBLE CIRCLE AND OF THE PERIOD (1573-1619)
         The jar is potted with four lobes, one panel is painted with an
         ascending dragon in pursuit of a flaming pearl, while the other
         three panels are similarly painted with a descending dragon, all
         above a band of rolling waves crashing breaking against outcrops
         around the base. The short cylindrical foot is painted with a band
         of classic scroll.
