cinq gri es pourchassant la perle parmi les nuées, les tiges
nement incisé de frises de lotus et d’un extrait de poème
par l’Empereur Qianlong ‘Xiang yu mingyue qingfeng ji, Zhi zai
gaoshan liushui jian’, avec le sceau Yu Minzhong

Yu Min Zhong (1714-1779), a native of Jiangsu, was a high-
ranking o cial under the Qianlong emperor who served as
a provincial governor and then a chief councilor under der
Qianlong emperor who established a multi-ethnic corps of
governors who functioned within a standardised and regulated
administrative world. Provincial administration became
one of the central pillars of Qing rule. His name appears on
this unusual object which may have been presented to the
Qianlong emperor by Yu Minzhong as the seal suggests.
A very rare gilt-bronze folding stand, Qing Dynasty,
Qianlong period, inscribed with a couplet from a Qianlong
poem and with the seal of Yu Minzhong
