A cast bronze censer in the form of Manjusri on a lion
Qing dynasty, 18th/19th century
The long-faced Bodhisattva of wisdom coiffed in flowing tresses and
attired in loose and open robes clutching a ruyi scepter in his left hand
above a long vertical smoke vent, fitted to a separately cast mount in the
form of a large grinning and clawed beast displaying tightly curled locks
of fur around the maw and brow as well as along the flanks and jutting
from the fetlocks and the pertly up-swept tail.

17th/18th century
The God of Civil Examinations depicted with a homely visage, holding two
brushes in his hands as he balances with one foot on a square-sectioned
plinth also supporting a miniature censer in one corner.
