            A FAMILLE-ROSE AND GILT FIGURE OF
            AMITAYUS
            seated in dhyanasana, the hands held in dhyana mudra
            supporting a vase, the shoulders draped with a billowing
            lime-green shawl detailed with stylised lotus scrolls, the
            dhoti with an outer layer decorated with gilt floral scrolls
            on an iron-red ground revealing the bright turquoise inner
            layer with further floral roundels, the gilt body adorned
            with ornamental jewels, the serene face surmounted with
            a five-leaf crown over blue hair swept into a topknot with
            the rest falling over the shoulders

            GILT BOX AND COVER
            QING DYNASTY, QIANLONG PERIOD
            painted and gilt to the top of the cover with a central
            stylised shou roundel surrounded by lotus blossoms
            borne on intertwining foliage and four bats with
            outstretched wings, the sides of the box similarly
            decorated, all reserved against a rich turquoise ground,
            the rims gilt, the base and interiors enamelled in
            turquoise
