flowing ribbons streaming around the body, its wings, the top edge grasping a ribbon in its mouth, the ribbon
tail and plumage detailed with fine incisions, donning suspending a stone chime, a wanzi pendant, and a lotus
a headband surmounted by a bird in profile with wings pendant, the ends of the ribbon fluttering to either side
outstretched, the pale green stone with russet inclusions and around the pair of catfish, the S-curved shaft carved with
smoothly polished a densely patterned foliate peony scroll, the stone an even

A RARE WHITE JADE MINIATURE VASE AND
COVER
QING DYNASTY
designed as an inro of flattened archaic bronze zhi form with
a waisted foot and miniature lug handles along the narrow
sides for suspension, each broad side carved in low relief
with a taotie mask with elongated almond-shaped eyes,
curling eyebrows and a ruyi-shaped nose against a diaper
ground, between registers of keyfret and whorl-shaped
bosses, the cover with a chilong-form knop (2)
