 COVER               QING DYNASTY, KANGXI PERIOD
 TRANSITIONAL PERIOD, CIRCA 1640  the slender, baluster body rising from a splayed foot to a
 of baluster form rising from a slightly splayed foot to   rounded shoulder and flared waisted neck, the body painted
 rounded shoulders and a short, subtly waisted neck, painted   with three registers of overlapping petal-form panels, each
 in varying tones of cobalt blue with an official strolling   panel with double-line borders alternatively enclosing
 alongside a river bank gazing at a fisherman at work,   riverscapes and flora, all below a chevron band, the neck
 accompanied by four attendants and a grazing horse, set   encircled by a composite floral scroll in reserve, the mouth
 within a detailed landscape of rockwork and trees, a city wall   rim with a double-line border
 peeking through a break in the clouds, all below a border of   Height 20⅝ in., 52.3 cm
 pendent leaves encircling the neck, the domed cover painted
 with rockwork and surmounted by a flattened knop (2)  PROVENANCE

 slightly waisted neck, the sides boldly painted with large   the slender body rising from a splayed foot to a rounded
 cobalt-blue ruyi-shaped lappets each enclosing a central   shoulder and a tall, straight neck, the body decorated with
 lotus bloom surrounded by dense leafy scrolls all in reserve,   five registers of bracketed cartouches depicting various
 a further lotus blossom suspended in the negative space   landscapes, all between chevron borders, the neck painted
 between each lappet, all above upright stylized leaves   with a narrow band of floral sprays between two raised fillets
 encircling the foot, the neck similarly decorated with upright   and two bands of mountain vignettes, wood stand (2)
 leaves above a band of clouds, the base unglazed  Height 18 in., 45.7 cm
