SAKAZUKI (SAKE CUP)
Edo period (1615-1868), 19th century
The circular cup set on a splayed foot and
decorated in iro-e takamaki-e, togidashi
maki-e and kinji with highlights of gyobu-
nashi and aogai on a red-lacquer ground with
Daikoku’s mallet, the underside decorated
with a large sea bream and a courtier’s cap
