A MING-STYLE BLUE AND WHITE MOON FLASK
JIAQING SIX-CHARACTER SEAL MARK IN UNDERGLAZE BLUE AND OF THE PERIOD
(1796-1820)
The flattened body of the flask is moulded on each side with a peach-form panel painted (mark)
with two bats in flight around a fruiting peach branch, surrounded by lotus meander above a
narrow band of classic scroll on the flared, rectangular foot. The narrow sides are decorated
with lingzhi scroll repeated below the everted rim. The lotus scrolls and trefoil bands on the
neck are interrupted by ruyi-form handles.
