A GREENISH-YELLOW JADE PENDANT
WESTERN ZHOU DYNASTY (C. 1100-771 BC)
The pendant is carved in the form of a gentle arc with one terminal
incised with humanoid eyes and ears, possibly representing a pig-
dragon; the other terminal carved with rounded eyes in relief,
possibly representing a mythical animal.

A CELADON JADE CARVING OF A PHOENIX
TANG-SONG DYNASTY (618-1279)
The stone is carved in the round depicting a phoenix with its feet
tucked underneath the body, its neck turned to one side with the
head resting on its feathery wings. The material is of a greyish-green
tone with areas of dark grey and russet inclusions.
