A FINE CLOISONNÉ ENAMEL PRICKET CANDLESTICK
Qianlong
The small, heavily cast candlestick formed with a domed base
supporting a wide drip pan, surmounted with a thin central column and
pricket, finely enamelled with scrolling lotus head meanders, five-petal
flower roundels and ruyi-head borders.

£4,000 - 6,000
CNY39,000 - 58,000
HK$47,000 - 71,000
The miniature size of the present lot suggests that it was meant to
be used on a personal desk rather than an altar or in a ceremonial
context.
See a pair of candlesticks, second half 18th century, of similar
proportions, H. Brinker & A. Lutz, Chinese Cloisonné Enamel: The
Pierre Uldry Collection, London 1989, pl. 280.
