of rectangular, waisted form, elaborately carved in the Beijing style
with a proliferation of archaistic scrollwork interspersed with lotus
leaves and blossoms, detailed spandrels and later hoof feet

provenance:
Property of a Colorado Gentleman; acquired by an American oil
company executive in Singapore in the 1940s, thence by descent
