A LACQUERED WOOD FIGURE OF A
FEMALE IMMORTAL
18TH CENTURY
The standing fgure is shown with the left
foot forward as she positions her hands to
hold a now-missing staff. She wears a scarf
draped over layered robes elaborately painted
in gold, red and black with rich designs of
clouds, dragon roundels and lotus scroll on
scrolled grounds, and her hair is drawn up
into a topknot.
