blossom niches surrounded by faming
aureoles and surmounted by conch shells, all
interspersed with foliate scrollwork.

A GILT-BRONZE FIGURE OF TARA
18TH CENTURY
The goddess is seated in lalitasana on a
double-lotus base with pendent ribbons, her
hands held in varadamudra and vitarkamudra.
She is dressed in a fowing dhoti and adorned
with a streaming sash and beaded jewelry,
with a lotus blossom at each shoulder. Her
benevolent face is surmounted by the tall
chignon and a foliate tiara.

A GILT-BRONZE FIGURE OF BUDDHA
18TH CENTURY
The fgure is seated in dhyanasana on a
double-lotus base with his hands held in
dharmachakramudra. He is clad in fowing
robes draped over the left shoulder, the hems
incised with a foliate pattern. The serene
expression of the face is centered by a raised
urna, and the hair is in tight curls over the
ushnisha and topped with a knob.
