A GROUP OF FOUR CELADON AND RUSSET JADE SEALS
18TH-19TH CENTURY
The group comprises four seals, three of square section and one of rectangular
section. The straight sides rise up to rounded upper edges. The stones are of a
generally even tone, with faux-russet highlights. The seal faces read: ‘Ma da lai
na’ (probably a name of an individual); ‘Qing ping shan lin’ (quiet and peaceful
mountains); ‘Wei wu zhi zu’ (satisfed with life); and ‘Mao lin’ (lush greenery).
