A GILT-BRONZE FIGURE OF AMITAYUS
ZANABAZAR SCHOOL, 18TH CENTURY
The fgure is cast with a serene expression on his face. His hair is pulled into a
high chignon and topped by a fnial behind a fve-leaf diadem. He is seated in
dhyanasana on a double-lotus base, wearing elaborate jewellery and holding
the elixir of immortality in front of him.

A GILT-BRONZE FIGURE OF A BODHISATTVA
17TH-18TH CENTURY
The fgure is cast seated in padmasana on a double lotus base with fnely
delineated smiling features, and hair tied in a high chignon behind a fve-leaf
diadem. The elaborately bejewelled fgure wears a celestial scarf and dhoti
which is decorated at the hem with fowers and turquoise and ruby inlays. The
left hand is raised in vitarkamudra and the left hand rests open on the right
knee in varadamudra, with each hand holding the stem of a fower which trails
up to her shoulders.
